A Lake (2008)

Directed by Philippe Grandrieux.

A beautiful film that evokes a Brakhage aesthetic.

Short review of the film can be found here.
“We see the nature of a family disrupted as a direct result of the newcomer, as if the director is suggesting that the isolation this family has isn’t a curse set upon their lot, but a sort of blessing.”
“Un Lac… holds a power to it that ordinary film over the years has unintentionally desensitized audiences to.”

  1. Fabulous! I think it’s the best film of Grandrieux. Even better than Le Vie Nouvelle.
